Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a form of alternative therapy that uses gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium and release deep fascial restrictions.
Modality Overview & Mechanism
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a form of alternative therapy that uses gentle touch to palpate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium. CST uses light touch (generally no more than 5 grams) to evaluate and enhance the craniosacral system—the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord—relieving central nervous system tension.
Treatment Process & Session Structure
- Gentle palpatory evaluation of the craniosacral rhythm at the feet, pelvis, and skull.
- Subtle fascial unwinding along cranial sutures and spinal dural tube.
- Stillpoint induction to facilitate deep nervous system reset.
Clinical Benefits & Expected Outcomes
- Relieves chronic migraines, neck stiffness, and TMJ dysfunction
- Alleviates central nervous system hyper-arousal and trauma
- Improves pediatric sleep and developmental calmness
- Enhances spinal fluid circulation and cerebral vitality
Patient Suitability & Indications
